You can also ask if they recognize certain things you are facing and may have a solution for this. This way you create interaction and show that you also find their opinion important. And another important advantage: you immediately discover what you need to change about your product or service or maybe a fan comes up with the solution to your problem.

That is why it is better to choose to use a certain tool where you can schedule social media posts that are placed on multiple social media profiles at the same time. This way you can maintain your Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter account at the same time. Spend a day inventing social media posts and then plan it for the next month.

Keep in mind that posts posted from tools are often less high in the home page than posts placed on the social media profile itself. That is why it can be better to just schedule the posts on the social media profiles themselves, because you want your followers to see the posts.


9. 9. Give away free gifts​


Giving away free gifts is a great way to thank your followers for following your social media profiles. Also tell them that you are grateful to them for this and therefore give them a gift. Your followers will continue to follow your page and they may also tell their friends that they should follow your company. Do you give away a free digital gift (like an e-book) or a discount code? In that case, you can also ask for your followers’ email address before they receive the gift. This way you immediately build a good mailing list!


10. 10. Do something with your mailing list​


The last tip is actually not entirely intended for social media marketing, but for the follow-up. Social media marketing is very good to build a mailing list and then you can get new customers out of it. However, do something with all those e-mail addresses, otherwise you will have saved them for nothing. You probably obtained the email addresses by giving away free gifts, so send these followers the gift directly and also thank them for registering on your mailing list.

After that, you can send the people on your mailing list monthly or a newsletter every two weeks with the latest updates and actions of your company. However, you can also send them a nice offer every two weeks (preferably an offer that is available for a limited time and also indicate this in the subject of the e-mail) and no newsletter at all. There are plenty of email marketing techniques on the internet, but at least make sure you address emails and that you don’t send out an email too often.
